“Suffering Servant”
SOLD
20”x16”
mixed media on canvas

This painting was a challenge. I repainted Jesus’ face over and over, never feeling that I could capture it with satisfaction. As I painted, I thought about how quick we are to create an image of God in our minds and how often He shows us that He is more than we imagine Him to be.

The truth is, He cannot be captured in a single image or painting. But we can share with each other what we see when we look at Him.

In this last season, every time I have imagined Jesus, I have seen Him as a suffering servant.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬
